Suspension System Auto Parts

CC Spring Company, LLC: Buy Suspension System Auto Parts

Your car or trucks "ride and handling" are controlled by your suspension system. Fast but safe acceleration, braking, and cornering are important qualities in any vehicle. But conquering Corpus Christi's potholes and gravel while holding the road and cornering takes a toll on your shocks or struts. When it's time to replace your shocks or struts give us a call at 361-884-5577.

A shock and a strut do the same basic job on a vehicle, damping the movement of the spring to create the feeling of an even ride. However, shocks and struts are completely different parts. Call us at 361-884-5577 or come by at 4444 Baldwin Boulevard to find out if your car or truck needs shocks or struts. In most cases, a car or truck will have either a shock or a strut for each wheel but never both. There are a few vehicle types that have struts on the front axle and shocks on the rear.

What's the difference in a Shock vs a Strut?

Struts

A strut is a built-in part of the vehicle's suspension system whereas a shock is an added component. A strut is an integral part of the steering system. The camber and caster angles are specific to the strut itself. Your struts are the pivot point for the car or trucks steering system and require correct alignment when replaced.

Shocks

Your shock absorber controls unwanted "bumps" by dampening their impact on the suspension's springs and pistons through the use of hydraulic fluid. The spring sits on top of or around your shock absorber.

Your shock absorber is essentially just a double-walled tube filled with hydraulic fluid. When your car hits a "bump" your suspension springs transfer the energy of the bump to the shock absorber. The shock absorber moves a small amount of fluid from the inner tube to the outer tube, slowing down the piston to minimize a "bump".

What our clients are saying about us

We have established longterm and stable partnerships with various clients thanks to our excellence in solving their automotive needs!

I made an appointment to get a front end alignment on our motor home during our trip thru Corpus Christi. I was greeted promptly by the owner, Henry. He let me know it would take about 2-3 hours to get the aligment completed so we went and spent a few hours in Corpus to check out the sights. I returned at exactly 3 hours later to see that the work had been completed. Henry let me know that there was nothing wrong with the alignment and offered some suggestions to perhaps improve the ride and handling. The best part was he didn't charge me a dime! This type of honest service is still alive in America! He could have easily charged me for an alignment and sent me down the road with me not knowing any better. I appreciated this and thanked Henry for his honesty and integrity. Thanks again ! quotes-image
